Founded in 2020, Les Sablés de Gellone is an artisanal brand dedicated to handcrafted cookies and baked goods. Its diverse product range includes sweet and savory cookies made with family-produced olive oil or butter, as well as carefully prepared gingerbread. All products are handmade in the emblematic village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, where the boutique is currently the brand’s only physical point of sale.

With a customer base largely made up of tourists from across France and abroad, creating a website quickly became a necessity. Many customers expressed a desire to repurchase the products after returning home, leading to a growing demand for an e-commerce website.

This e-commerce website was designed to meet several key needs:

  • Make purchasing possible without traveling to the village
  • Ensure the products accessible throughout the year
  • Support brand growth and visibility
  • Reach more diverse customer profiles beyond seasonal tourism

Alongside maintaining the local customer base who shop directly in-store, the website creation was part of a broader brand identity effort. This included a visual refresh, the development of a reassuring and engaging editorial tone, and the creation of product photography highlighting both the products and the brand’s founder and creator.

Ultimately, this project helped modernize the Les Sablés de Gellone brand while preserving the authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship that define its identity.

Website Design

Before designing the wireframes, an extended competitive and sector analysis was carried out to identify best practices across artisan food brand websites. The analysis focused on product presentation, content structure, and current digital approaches, drawing inspiration from various fields such as biscuits, wine, coffee, cheese, pasta, and charcuterie.

This phase was complemented by a personal UX-driven approach, with the goal of designing a clear, coherent, and user-friendly website.

I then worked on the website’s visual identity, including color palette definition, typography selection, logo simplification, and UI kit design, to ensure a consistent and scalable visual system.

The website’s editorial content was written by me in collaboration with Cathy, the owner of Les Sablés de Gellone. This included defining the editorial tone, aligned with the brand’s universe and positioning.

Finally, the website was designed as an evolving platform. User and customer needs will be continuously considered after launch to improve the experience and support the site’s ongoing development over time.

Photography and Visual Identity

In parallel with the website design, a direction artistique and photography project was carried out to build a cohesive visual universe for Les Sablés de Gellone.

This process began with a research and strategic reflection phase, materialized through the creation of a moodboard. Its purpose was to define the brand’s visual universe, clarify its positioning, and guide aesthetic choices.

Based on this foundation, I developed several creative directions, working on composition, camera angles, atmospheres, staging, and framing to visually express the brand’s values and identity.

I then designed all the product setups, carefully selecting the necessary elements such as products, accessories, tableware, textiles, and sets. Shooting locations were also chosen to ensure visual harmony and a consistent narrative across all images.

Finally, I handled the entire photographic production, including the photoshoots, selection of final images, and post-production retouching.
